Root Canal Therapy in Cudahy CA

Root canal therapy: A root canal is a last resort to save a tooth that’s severely decayed or even infected. At the point a tooth needs a root canal treatment, the nerve has become infected and/or damaged and fillings are no longer a viable option. The nerve also known as the pulp, is removed from the infected tooth and it is replaced by a special filling material. Root canal therapy is not a painful or uncomfortable process, you will be numbed and Dr. Zinati is great at making patients feel comfortable and experience pain-free dental treatments, including root canals. The procedure is normally done in one visit, although in some rare cases it may need 2 visits. It’s also a preferable and highly successful alternative to avoid extraction of the tooth. After a root canal it is recommended to place a crown on the tooth because the tooth becomes brittle and can fracture easily without the protection of a crown. If you experience any of the signs and symptoms listed below, a root canal might be necessary:

  • Severe Toothache
  • Swelling or Pain in the Gums around the Tooth
  • Swelling of the cheek with or without pain
  • Persistent or increasing Sensitivity to Cold or Hot
  • Darkening/Discoloration of the Tooth

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please call our office at (323) 771-7254 to make an appointment.
